We are so excited to introduce ourselves – as the Dragons Tail Dancers. A group of professional pole dancers who have come together to form a new performance collective, we will be hosting pole dance stage shows in our home town of Birmingham UK, and we hope you will be coming to join us for some incredible evenings of entertainment.
Birmingham has a long standing reputation for producing talented performers in many disciplines – music, comedy, poetry, sport, acting, djing, storytelling… the list could go on! So it comes as no surprise that some of the UK’s best pole dancers are from Birmingham. And pole dancers are certainly a force to be reckoned with. Years of training in strength, endurance, and flexibility, have them make hard tricks look graceful and effortless.
Our shows will take place in a theatre, in a cabaret style evening show with a lineup of pole dance performers taking to the stage in turns to reveal their expertly crafted routines. Our host venues all have licensed bars, so our guests are invited to treat themselves to a tipple before the show to settle into their seat and relax with! Non drinkers are equally as welcome and well catered for – there will be plenty of soft drinks on offer, and ice creams and sweet treats available in the interval if you’re not fussed by a glass of fizz.
Our performers will blow you away with stunning skills that place them at the cutting edge of pole dance artistry. The pole dance industry has evolved through several stages over it’s 40 year history, and is currently undergoing a transition as it enters the next phase in that evolution. Modern pole dance started in the 1980s, hidden from public view in smoke filled and dimly lit nightclubs, and went on to grow and flourish into a popular sport beloved by a thriving global community.
Today’s iteration of pole dance is all about individualistic expression, and taking pride in showing off our diverse identities, looks and movement styles. Some may wear heels and some may go barefoot, some may wear covered clothing and some may not. There will be no nudity, but expect (and enjoy!) some very skimpy outfits. Our dancers have a wealth of professional dance experience, some coming from clubs and cabarets, some from circus and contortion, some from a commercial dance background, and some from teaching in pole studios. They excel in a variety of pole dance styles, from contemporary flow, classic, exotic, artistic, theatrical, and more… but to find out what it’s all about, you’ll have to come and watch!
